A pay page clients trust
Clients open a clean, branded page with no login. They pay by bank transfer or card. Your VAT number sits on the invoice, and they can download a proper PDF.
PixPay is the simpler way to invoice and get paid. Keep your accountant, keep your records, and stop paying for accounting software you barely use.
The free plan includes 5 invoices. No card needed.
Xero is excellent accounting software. PixPay is not accounting software, and it does not try to be. Here is who should switch, and who should not.
You do not have to choose. Plenty of people keep their accounting software for the books and use PixPay to send invoices and get paid. PixPay does not connect to Xero yet, so your bookkeeper gets a tidy file each month instead.
If invoicing is the only part of Xero you use, the price gap is real. If you use the rest, it is not a fair comparison, and the table says so.
| Feature | Xero Ignite | Xero Grow | PixPay Free | PixPay Pro |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price a month | £18 | £39 | £0 | £9or £85 a year |
| Invoices | Up to 20 a month | Unlimited | 5 in total | Unlimited |
| Bank reconciliation and VAT returns | Included | Included | Not included | Not included |
The honest comparison: Xero does the books. PixPay does the invoicing and the chasing. If your accountant already does your books, you may be paying for half a product.
Four steps, and you do not have to cancel anything until you are ready.
In Xero, go to Contacts and export them as a CSV file. That is the only thing you need to take out.
In PixPay, open Settings, then Your data, then PixPay Exchange, and choose Import clients. PixPay recognises Xero's file, shows you every row first, skips duplicates, and lets you undo the whole import.
So clients can pay by card, connect your Stripe account in Settings. The money goes straight to you, never through PixPay. Card payments are part of Pro.
Build it in a couple of minutes and send it. For monthly clients, set up a recurring invoice and ask them to save their card so it pays itself.
Your old invoices stay in Xero. PixPay imports contacts, not invoices, so keep Xero running until your open invoices are paid.
PixPay does one job. These are the parts of it that people switch for.
Clients open a clean, branded page with no login. They pay by bank transfer or card. Your VAT number sits on the invoice, and they can download a proper PDF.
Polite, automatic reminders go out before the due date, on the day, and when an invoice runs late. You can send your own at any time too.
Ask a client to save their card once. After that, each recurring invoice is charged automatically, and you are told when they save it and if a charge ever fails.
Download a tidy CSV of your invoices for any month, any dates, or the UK tax year, and send it to whoever does your books.
Export your clients, your invoices and a full backup at any time, on every plan. Your data is yours.
PixPay is built and supported by HappyPixel Agency. Write to hello@mypixpay.co.uk and you get a person, not a ticket queue.
We would rather you know now than find out after you cancel something.
Bank feeds and reconciliation
PixPay does not connect to your bank or match transactions.
VAT returns and Making Tax Digital
PixPay shows VAT on your invoices. It does not submit returns or quarterly updates.
Payroll and expenses
There is no payroll, and no receipt or expense tracking.
Several businesses in one account
Each PixPay account is one business. If you trade under two names, you would need two accounts.
If you need any of those, keep your accounting software. Use it for the books, and use PixPay to send invoices and get paid.
Whatever you decide, do these first. It takes about ten minutes and saves a lot of trouble.
Yes. In Xero, export your contacts as a CSV file. In PixPay, open Settings, then Your data, then PixPay Exchange, and choose Import clients. PixPay recognises Xero's contacts file by itself, shows you every row before anything is saved, skips duplicates, and lets you undo the import.
Not yet. PixPay imports your contacts, not your Xero invoices. Keep Xero running until your open invoices are paid, and export your old invoices and reports before you cancel.
No. PixPay shows your VAT number and the VAT on every invoice, but it does not submit VAT returns or Making Tax Digital updates. If you need those, keep software that does, and use PixPay to send invoices and get paid.
Not through a login at the moment. You can give them an accountant file, a tidy CSV of your invoices by month, tax year or any dates you choose, whenever they need it.
PixPay numbers your invoices in order, starting at INV-0001. You cannot set your own prefix or starting number yet, so your old Xero numbers stay in Xero.
By bank transfer, or by card through Stripe on the Pro plan. Card payments go straight into your own Stripe account, and the invoice marks itself as paid.
Yes, at any time. You can export your clients, your invoices and a full backup on every plan, including the free one.
Card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by PixPay. Every account can only see its own data.
Start on the free plan, import your Xero contacts, and send one invoice. If it is not for you, export everything and walk away.
Founding offer while it lasts: use code BETAFOUNDER50 for 50% off Pro, for life.
